Dropping Courses
How to Drop a Course on WebAdvisor
When dropping courses on WebAdvisor, navigate to the "Course Plan" screen on WebAdvisor, Calendar view to see the class schedule and listing of courses down the left side. Each course will have a blue Drop button. To confirm/double check the course has been removed from your record, press the Print button located above the schedule grid. This is the clearest way to confirm which courses are still registered.
If the delivery mode of the course you are dropping is Distance Education (DE), check the bottom of the class schedule to see that the course no longer appears. This is where registered distance education courses appear on the schedule grid.
Courselink is only updated periodically. If a course is still listed on Courselink, it does not mean you are still enrolled.
Things to Consider:
If this is a required course, consider the best time to take it again. The expected semester offerings (Fall, Winter, Summer) are in the Course Descriptions section of the Undergraduate Calendar (scroll down). Consider future courses in your schedule of studies that may require the dropped course as a pre-requisite. Meet with your Academic Advisor to discuss.
In addition to deciding when to take the course again, plan for when you will make up the loss of the credit at some point before you graduate. Meet with your Academic Advisor to discuss options.

Voluntary Withdrawl
If you decide not to attend a semester, you can do so. This is called Voluntary Withdrawl. See Section VIII of the Undergraduate Calendar and Section VIII of the Diploma Calendar for more information on Voluntary Withdrawl. It is recommended that students meet with their Academic Advisor to discuss withdrawing from all classes (before they do so), to explore their options and to discuss processes involved. You are allowed to not register for up to five semesters but remain in your current program. If you remain not registered for more than five semesters, and wish to register in your program again, you will be required to apply for Readmission. See Section VIII of the Undergraduate Calendar and Section VIII of the Diploma Calendar for more information on Readmission.
Drop Deadlines for Different Types of Courses
One-Semester Courses
Students are allowed to drop one-semester courses up to the last class day. Check Section III of the Undergraduate Calendar and Section III of the Diploma Calendar (Schedule of Dates) for the specific drop date. Students will not be permitted to drop a one-semester course on WebAdvisor after the deadline. To discuss requesting a late drop of a course (based on medical, psychological, or compassionate grounds), book an appointment with your Academic Advisor.
Two-Semester Courses
Students are allowed to drop two-semester courses up to the last day of the Add Period in the second semester. Check Section III of the Undergraduate Calendar for specific dates. Students will not be permitted to drop a two-semester course on WebAdvisor after the deadline.
Six-Week Summer Session Courses
These courses have different drop deadlines and refund schedules (see below). Please refer to Section III of the Undergraduate Calendar for drop deadlines.
Refunds
Refunds may be available depending on when classes are dropped and how many classes are dropped. The amount of the refund decreases incrementally as the semester progresses. For the refund schedule please refer to the Schedule of Fees in the Undergraduate Calendar and in the Associate Diploma Calendar.
