Please Read Carefully!

Once a Schedule of Studies is published, the University does not go back and “fix it” when courses are deleted or changed. To help you keep track of what you need to graduate, changes to your Schedule of Studies are listed below. Some students find it useful to review these changes while viewing their My Progress on the Student Planning system through WebAdvisor. This way you can mark off what you have completed and what you still need to complete. Please note that substitutions won’t always show up on My Progress. If you find errors on My Progress, or if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your Program Counsellor.

Changes are listed for each major:

Changes for Environmental Management

  • FARE*4310 will not be offered Winter 2025 (update; it will be offered).
  • EDRD*3450 will not be offered Fall 2022. It will be offered Fall 2023, then cancelled. 
  • ENVM*4500 is required for both co-op and non co-op students in Semester 8. It is missing from the requirements in the calendar for co-op. 
  • FARE*4360 will not be offered Winter 2024 or Winter 2025. It may not be offered again.
  • EDRD*2020 was last offered Fall 2022. 
  • EDRD*3400 was last offered Winter 2023.
  • ENVS*3330 will change to IAEF*3510 (to reflect interdisciplinary agriculture, environment and food). ENVS*3330 will last be offered Winter 2024 and IAEF*3510 will start Summer 2024. 
  • AGR*4450 will be worth 0.50 credits starting Summer 2022. 

Changes for Equine Management

  • EQN*2050 and EQN*4020 are combining to be a third year course. Take EQN*4020 Winter 2025 (Winter 2026 if you are in co-op). Winter 2026 is the last offering of EQN*4020. 
  • EQN*2200 is moving to a Winter offering. It will no be offered Fall 2024. Next offering is Winter 2025.
  • EQN*2150 was last offered Winter 2024. EQN*3100 will take its place; first offered Winter 2026. 
  • EQN*3060 was last offered Winter 2024. ANSC*3040 is the substitution. 
  • For List 3, students can also take ANSC*4700 and ANSC*4710. SPMT*1020 can also be used for this list. UPDATE: SPMT 1120, MGMT 3100 and MGMT 3900 can also be used. 
  • FARE*4360 will not be offered Winter 2024 or Winter 2025. It may not be offered again.
  • EDRD*3400 was last offered Winter 2023.
  • EDRD*2020 was last offered Fall 2022. 
  • EDRD*3050 was last offered Fall 2022. 
  • AGR*4450 will be worth 0.50 credits starting Summer 2022. 
  • ANSC*1210 will last be offered Winter 2022. It will be replaced by ANSC 2210, worth 0.50 credits (first offered Winter 2023). If you still need ANSC 1210, you can take ANSC 2210, but you need to take an additional elective since ANSC 1210 was worth 1.00. 
  • ANSC*3270 can be used as a list 1 restricted elective. 
  • CHEM*1100 is no longer offered. You must now take either CHEM 1040 (if you have high school chemistry) or CHEM 1060. CHEM 1060 is a Fall course, so for Winter 2022 if you don't take CHEM 1040, you will select an elective or restricted elective. 

Changes for Food Industry Management

  • Due to course cancellations and deletions, students will now be required to take 3.00 restricted electives without regard to group. Students are encouraged to talk to their faculty advisor about other course opportunities like CAMA (a marketing competition) and independent studies. FARE*2410 and FARE*3250 can be used as restricted electives (FARE*3250 will next be offered Fall 2024).  
  • FARE*4380 will not be offered Winter 2024 or Winter 2025. FARE*4220 must be taken instead (you will be signed in, regardless of prerequisites, email fare@uoguelph.ca to enroll).
  • FARE*3000 will not be offered Fall 2023 and may be deleted. 
  • FARE*4330 will not be offered Winter 2024 and will be deleted. You must take FARE*4500 as a substitution. Prerequisites will be waived; email fare@uoguelph.ca to enroll. This is a Fall course.
  • FARE*4360 will not be offered Winter 2024 or Winter 2025.
  • FOOD*4020 will move to every other year offering (offered Winter 2024, but not Winter 2025). The FOOD*3170 prerequisite will be waived for students who wish to take it Winter 2024. Talk to Maria Corradini about taking a grad course Winter 2025 if you wish to take the content of FOOD 4020.
  • AGR*4450 will be worth 0.50 credits starting Summer 2022.
