Please Read Carefully!

Once a Schedule of Studies is published, the University does not go back and “fix it” when courses are deleted or changed. To help you keep track of what you need to graduate, changes to your Schedule of Studies are listed below. Some students find it useful to review these changes while viewing their My Progress on the Student Planning system through WebAdvisor. This way you can mark off what you have completed and what you still need to complete. Please note that substitutions won’t always show up on My Progress. If you find errors on My Progress, or if you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact your Program Counsellor.

Changes are listed for each major:

Changes for Ecology

ZOO 4570 is a restricted elective that requires PHYS 1080.

ZOO 3600 now requires ZOO 2090 as a pre-requisite. ECOL students planning to take ZOO 3600 as their ‘One of:’ requirement should take BIOC 2580 in semester 4, ZOO 2090 in semester 5, and ZOO 3600 in semester 7. ECOL:C students planning to take ZOO 3600 as their ‘One of:’ requirement should take BIOC 2580 in semester 4, ZOO 2090 in semester 6, and ZOO 3600 in semester 8.

ECOL:C students planning to take GEOG 2210 as a substitution for ECON 2100 or FARE 2700 should look to take it in semester 5 - Winter (not semester 4).

GEOG 3210 has had a title, course description, and pre-requisite change. It is still a List 2 restricted elective for ECOL/ECOL:C.

GEOG 3000, GEOG 3110 and GEOG 3610 have all had STAT 2230 added to the pre-requisite list (department sign in no longer needed).

GEOG 4230 is a restricted elective for ECOL/ECOL:C offered by the department in F22 instead of W23 and F23 instead of W24. This change may become permanent.

POLS 3370 is listed as a restricted elective and is not offered for S23. Next anticipated offering is F23.

BIOL 3010 and BOT 2100 might be in conflict again for F24. 

BOT 2100 is a 'One of' required course that is changing to a fall only offering after W24.

BOT 3410 is a 'One of' required course that is changing to a winter only offering starting in W25. 

ANSC 3180 is a restricted elective that will be offered in fall instead of winter semester, starting in F24.

BIOL 2060 is a required course and is not offered for S24. Next anticipated offering is F24.

BIOL 2400 is a required course and is not offered for S24. Next anticipated offering is F24.

Changes for Environmental Sciences

The schedule of studies for ENVS and ENVS:C Credit Summary section, it states that Required Courses for the Major total 4.50 credits, but it should say 3.5 credits. Also in this section Restricted Electives total 5.50 credits, but it should say 6.50 credits. The error is that List A and List B credits have been accounted for under the credit count for Required Courses for the Major, but should be included under the credit count for restricted electives.

BIOL 4350 is a restricted elective that requires BIOL 3450. BIOL 3450 is a fall only offering and should be taken in semester 5. BIOL 3450 is approved as a substitution for ENVS 3150 (semester 6 in the schedule of studies).

ENVS Students wishing to take GEOG 2210 instead of either ECON 2100 or FARE 2700 for the ‘One of’ requirement, must register for it in a winter semester.

ENVS:C Students can take GEOG 2210 instead of either ECON 2100 or FARE 2700 for the ‘One of’ requirement. Note: GEOG 2210 is only offered in winter semester.

ENVS 2230 is a List C restricted elective and will not be offered in W24.

ENVS 3050 is a List C restricted elective and will not be offered in W23.

ENVS 3220 is a restricted elective and will not be offered in F24.

ENVS 3300 is listed as a restricted elective for ENVS/ENVS:C and has changed to a fall only offering to prepare students for the new ENVS 4440 course with first offering in W22.

ENVS 3330 or IAEF 3500 can be taken as List E restricted electives by ENVS students.

ENVS 3330 is not being offered in S24 and is changing course codes to IAEF 3510 as of F24.

ENVS 3340 is a restricted elective and will not be offered in F23.

ENVS 4030 is a List D restricted elective and will not be offered in W23 or W24. 

ENVS 4050 can be taken as a List D restricted elective and will not be offered in W24.

ENVS 4070 is a List D restricted elective and was not offered in W21 or W24.

ENVS 4120 is a List D restricted elective and will not be offered in W24 and W25.

ENVS 4180 is a List D restricted elective and will not be offered in W24.

ENVS 4260 was not offered in W21.

ENVS 4320 is a List D restricted elective and will not be offered in W24.

ENVS 4360 is a List D restricted elective and will not be offered in W23 or W24.

ENVS 4390 is a restricted elective that is changing to a winter only offering as of W25 (not being offered in F24).

ENVS 4440 can be taken as a List D restricted elective.

MICR 3220 is listed as a restricted elective and will not be offered in F22.

PBIO 4290 changed part of the pre-requisite from ENVS 3300 to (PBIO*3110 or PBIO*3120). This course will not be offered in W23. Next anticipated offering is W24.

PBIO 4530 is a List D restricted elective and will not be offered in W23. 

Changes for Environmental Economics and Policy

The 2023-24 Schedule of Studies is very different for EEP/EEP:C. Contact your program counsellor or faculty advisor to discuss the changes and whether it makes sense to switch calendar years.

ECON 2770 is listed as a requirement in semester 4 for EEP:C but is not offered in summer. For EEP:C, ECON 2770 can be taken in semester 5.

ECON 2740 is listed as a "One of: ECON 2740 or STAT 2040" requirement in semester 4 for EEP:C but ECON 2740 is not offered in summer. For EEP:C students wanting to take ECON 2740, it can be taken in semester 5 and ECON 3740 can be taken in semester 6.

ECON 2650 is listed as a a restricted elective and will not be offered in F20, next anticipated offering F21.

ECON 3100 is listed as a restricted elective and is cancelled for W23. Next anticipated offering is W24.

ECON 3500 is listed as a restricted elective and will not be offered in W21.

ECON 4840 is listed as a restricted elective and will no longer be offered after W20.

EDRD 2650 is listed as a restricted elective and will no longer be offered (last offering was W20).

FARE 3250 is listed as a restricted elective and will not be offered in F23.

FARE 4210 is listed as a restricted elective and will no longer be offered after F20.

FARE 4500 is listed as a restricted elective and will not be offered in F22. This course may be perminately deleted so be sure to plan your 3000/4000 level ECON or FARE restricted electives with this in mind.

POLS 3370 is listed as a restricted elective and is not offered for S23. Next anticipated offering is F23.

FARE 2410 is listed as a restricted elective and will be offered in F23 instead of W24.

ENVS 3220 is a List B restricted elective and will not be offered in F24.

FARE 4310 is a required course that will not be offered in W25. Students with this course in their schedule of studies for W25 should take it in W24.

BIOL 2060 is a List B restricted elective and will not be offered in S24.

Changes for Environment and Resource Management

ECON 2100 is listed as a requirement in semester 4 (ERM:C) but is not offered in summer. For ERM:C, One of: ECON 2100 or FARE 2700 can be taken in semester 3.

ENVS 4390  was not offered in F20 and the credit weighting changed from 1.0 to 0.5 credits as of F23. This course is moving to a winter only offering as of W25 (not offered in F24).

GEOG 2210 is listed as a requirement in semester 4 (ERM:C) but is not offered in summer. For ERM:C it should be taken in semester 5.

GEOG 3000 is a 'one of' required course but it will not be offered in F24, next anticipated offering is F25. 

GEOG 3110 has had a title and course description change. It is still a required course for ERM/ERM:C.

GEOG 3210 has had a title, course description, and pre-requisite change. It is still a required course for ERM/ERM:C.

GEOG 4230 is a restricted elective for ERM/ERM:C and is anticipated to be offered by the department in F22 instead of W23 and F23 instead of W24. Next anticipated offering is W25.

The ERM:C schedule of studies has the following line in twice, in error. This line should only appear once under the heading 'Restricted Electives': 2. An additional 1.00 credits in Geography (GEOG) at the 3000 level or higher.
