BLA First Years - Restrictions (Updated)
Update 7/5/2024: We were hoping ANTH*1150 and SOC*1100 would open to BLA first years today, but it appears this has not yet happened. If the restrictions are not lifted on these courses this afternoon, it should hopefully happen on Monday.
Update 7/4/2024: ANTH*1150 and SOC*1100 will open to BLA students in the coming days (prior to July 15th).
First year BLA students, please note that due to priority access restrictions, you may not be able to register for your preferred social science and/or elective right when your course selection window opens. See the Office of Registrarial Services' website for a detailed list of Restrictions and keep an eye on this list for updates. You may want to pick a different course as a back-up option if you are waiting for a restriction to lift.
SOC*1100, PHIL*1010, PSYC*1000 and ANTH*1150 are typically restricted at first, with priority access being given to students in those majors. Currently, PSYC*1000 has sections that are open to first year BLA students. Keep an eye on the Restrictions page for further updates.
When it comes to electives, don’t hesitate to explore different subject areas – for example, PHYS*1600 is Contemporary Astronomy. You can also explore broader introductory courses (for example FRHD*1100 Life: Health and Well-Being). Looking for a related course? HORT*1130 is the Science of Gardening.
For additional information on restrictions, please check the website of the department offering the course.
