  Writing Programs and Workshops:

  • The Writing Room in the McLaughlin Library is a quiet, focused space to work independently on writing projects, away from distractions. Reserve your desk now on WC Online.
  • Writing Tune-Up (January 11 & 12) delivers two days of grammar instruction each semester for all writers. Attend one day or attend both.
  • Brainfood Thesis and Dissertation Workshops (starts January 24) offers sessions on literature reviews, time management, research, presentation skills, and much more to accommodate undergraduate Honours Thesis students at the various stages of the thesis process. Attend one session or attend them all. You’ll find out more about how to approach your research and writing with confidence.

English Language Support:

Writing Services offers dedicated assistance to non-native English speakers. If English isn't your first language and you are a student in a degree program, you can access the Library's EAL programs and services. Visit English Language Support.

  • English Language appointments (opens January 20) are effective for helping non-native English speakers to clarify their ideas and structure their documents before submitting papers. Appointments can also focus on skill development for reading, listening, and oral communication. Register on WC Online.
